MINNESOTA – Fortunately, not all car chases, whether real or from Hollywood, end in tragedy. And when you are watching a chase on television, even though the stunt drivers make it look so real, you pretty much know….it is just an act.
In Minnesota, life kind of imitated art recently leading one state trooper to believe, there is no such thing as a routine traffic stop. Dash cam video shows a car pulling into a driveway, then backing up into the trooper’s cruiser. Imagine his surprise when, one by one, three kids got out of the car….all still wearing their PJ’s.
The driver is only eight years old and his joy ride lasted for 15 miles on the highway during rush hour traffic. Amazing, no one was hurt, including his two passengers. Along for the ride were his five-year-old foster-sister and her three-year-old brother. Troopers have no idea where the kids were going or why. But all three are in protective services while the investigation keeps rolling along.
