HOUSTON, TX – Kenny Thompson runs, which raises money to pay off kids’ school lunch debts. On Monday at Horne Elementary in Cy-Fair, he footed the bill for over 900 students, by handing over a check for more than $6000.

“To have someone from the community come out to do nothing but serve our kids, and do things for others, it’s a wonderful feeling. It’s a great model for our students,” says Principal Stephanie Thomas.

The labor of love is a side project for Thompson, who’s a stagehand at Theater Under the Stars. It has taken off since the media picked up on his first stop earlier this month. Since then, he’s served six schools.

“People have sent money from Australia, Canada, Europe and about every state in our United States,” he says.

Thompson hopes to expand the project more and more. It feeds a lot of kids, and spirits too.
