Macy’s department stores stirred up plenty of controversy for one of the mannequins they had on their display floors. The black mannequin has an unflattering look which has caused plenty of people to take to social media to question why the chain would display such offensive mannequins.

Here is a link to some of the comments that have surrounded the display.

In response to the backlash, Macy’s posted this to those concerned:

Thank you for voicing your concerns regarding our in-store mannequin display. We have shared them with our visual team, and have since removed the mannequins. We sincerely apologize to anyone who was offended, as that was absolutely not our intention. We respect, value and welcome all of our customers.
