NEWBERG, OR – You’ve probably given to someone on a street corner, but what if they wanted more? Kevin Gray has been asking strangers for a big donation, standing on a street corner in Oregon holding a sign and begging for a kidney.

Gray got the news in May that he has Stage 5 kidney failure. Now he undergoes nine hours of dialysis every night, which he’ll have to do until he finds a donor. If the father of three is lucky, he could get a kidney in three years going the traditional route. That’s why Gray decided to take his predicament on the road. He spends hours every day standing near a highway with a homemade sign asking for a kidney.

He hasn’t gotten a kidney yet, but he’s motivated some strangers to get tested to see if they’re a match. Gray’s wife has also set up a Facebook page in search of Gray’s new kidney.
