ORLANDO, FL – An Orlando man has been charged with attempted second-degree murder for throwing hot grits on his neighbor.

According to officials, 60-year-old Edward Holley got into a scuffle with his 29-year-old neighbor, Darryl Blacknell.

An arrest report says Holley warned Blacknell that if he saw him again he’d “throw hot grease on him.”

Looks like he kept his promise, sort of.

When Holley saw Blacknell playing cards with friends on the porch Holley says he took the grits off the stove and flung them at him. Unfortunately investigators say Blacknell suffered second and third degree burns.

Ouch!

A pretty hard breakfast to digest.
