Man shows no heart by stealing transplant donation money

PAHOA, Hawaii — Two regular customers of a smoke shop in Hawaii showed up not to buy, but to steal. Stealing is as wrong as two left shoes, but what store surveillance video caught them stealing is pretty heartless.
The video captured a man stashing a donation jar full of cash into his pants. Those funds were to help pay medical bills for Madisyn Tamaki, 8, who needs a heart transplant. Little Madisyn is on life support at a children’s hospital in Seattle where she’s waiting for a donor.
In the video, when the store worker behind the counter turns her back, he swipes the jar and heads for the exit.
Jose Miranda, the manager of store, says “It looked like they were talking about stealing it in the corner over here by the clothing, and as soon as my worker wasn’t paying attention he grabbed it and put it in his…in his pants”
Jeffery Kleinschmidt and his partner in crime Kristin Johnson got away with a couple-hundred bucks for a while, but were nabbed and charged with third-degree theft.
Their faces say it all. The duo couldn’t steal the support from Madisyn though. People back in Pahoa, Hawaii have stepped up and held a ‘heart to heart’ fundraiser for her. More than $3,000 have been raised so far on the donation site ‘You Caring.’
One thing is for sure, this eight-year-old may be in need of a heart, but she’s definitely got love from across the country.
