HOUSTON – With this wintry mix heading into H-town, one local mission is going into overdrive. Literally/

The Star of Hope Mission is deploying its Hope in Action van. While many of our city’s homeless opt to stay out, mission workers are encouraging then to seek shelter.

It’s just too darn cold for anyone to be out on the streets overnight.

“If they’re not going to come into the shelter, we could at least make them warm with blankets and coats and let them know that somebody loves them. Somebody out here cares about them, and we’ll come back tomorrow and try and get you into shelter again,” said Scott Arthur, Director of Public Relations for Star of Hope.

Of course, the missions are open. Both locations are at capacity, but no one will be turned away. That goes for men, women and families.

Bundle up out there. These conditions are dangerous.
