HOUSTON, TX – It’s been nearly three years since 12-year old Jonathan Foster was kidnapped on Christmas Eve. The little boy’s burned body was found days later, wrapped in carpet and dumped in a ditch near his North Houston home days later.
While Jonathan will never come home to his family, hopefully the Fosters can find some peace knowing his killer, Mona Nelson, will never return home either.
A judge sentenced Nelson to life in prison, without the chance of parole.
Although justice was served there’s still one aspect of the case that remains a mystery. Nelson’s motive.
Prosecutors were obviously satisfied with the outcome, but Nelson’s defense team is already planning the next step. Appealing the verdict handed down in court on Tuesday.
Nelson’s Attorney, Allen Tanner, says Nelson was hoping the judge would find she was not guilty.
Since Jonathan Foster’s family will never see their little boy again; it’s probably safe to say things didn’t turn out the way the Foster’s would’ve hoped for either.
