penguinGALVESTON, TX – A baby penguin at Moody Gardens in Galveston should really have some happy feet. Named after a “Bull”, J.J. Watt of the Texans – hey, somebody get this little guy an elbow brace, – this tough baby king penguin survived a serious injury after breaking out of his shell, earlier this month.

“He recently had an injury on his back,’ explained Amanda Robinson, biologist at Moody Gardens. ‘He possibly got pecked by his parents while they were protecting him. And it’s healed really nicely.”

Apparently the chick got caught in the middle of a squabble with another penguin. Who attacked who, we don’t know. In any case, with a lot of care, the team of biologists saved the baby penguin’s life.

“We put medication on his back and within about a week it had healed up really great.”

Like in the story of the ugly little duckling, Watt will surely grow to become a handsome king penguin. With such a compelling story, maybe one day he’ll become a motivational speaker. Who knows? At least wearing a tuxedo won’t be a problem for this little dude.
