westnileNORTH HARRIS COUNTY – If you’re zip code is 77373, 77348, 77393 or 77520, that means mosquitoes in your area have tested positive for the virus.

“We have now six positive mosquito samples to date. Once we find a positive sample, then we’ll go out that evening and we’ll spray that area,” said Dr. Rudy Bueno, Harris County’s Mosquito Control Director.

So far no one seems to have been bitten by one of these suckers, but you Houstonians know the drill. Get rid of any standing water around your property. And before you leave home, go ahead and lather on H-Town’s official fragrance of summer “Off” — or some other kind of bug spray.

You’ll smell kind of weird, but it’s better than the alternative.
