HOUSTON – More than 2,500 people attended the funeral of Dawn and Antonio Armstrong on Saturday at The Kingdom Builders’ Center.

“This was truly a celebration, a home going celebration,” Chef Dee Dee Coleman said. “Yes, some tears were cried, but they were tears from people who cherish the memories from Dawn and Antonio.”

The Armstrongs died in late July.  Police found the couple shot at their house in southwest Houston.

Authorities have arrested the couple’s 16-year-old son, but he has plead not guilty.

Antonio’s mother, Pastor Kay Winston-Shorter delivered the eulogy at the funeral, saying, “We are standing strong and standing together, not on our own strength, but in the strength of the lord.”
