National media ignoring the Gosnell trial

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Prosecutors are calling this West Philadelphia abortion clinic ‘a house of horrors.’

And here’s a warning: this story may be the most horrific story you’ll read in a long time.

Kermit Gosnell is a doctor prosecutors say delivered live, late-term babies, and then killed them, sometimes using scissors to cut through their spinal cords.

Gosnell says he is not guilty of the eight counts of murder against him that go back several years.

Grand jurors said the callous killing of babies outside the womb, the deaths of two patients, and other aspects of the clinic were not the only shocking things they found.

Their report also cites the Pennsylvania Department of Health, the Pennsylvania Department of State, the Philadelphia Department of Public Health, and other doctors for failing to enforce the laws and to follow up on complaints.

And now, the national media have become part of the story, not in the way they have covered it, but in the way they have not covered what could be one of the nation’s largest mass murders.

The race to find a conscious seems to have started with a tweet from a Washington Post reporter who said the trial was a local story.

That reporter now admits she was clearly wrong.

What’s also wrong may be the national media focusing on the murder of school kids by one man with gun, and losing sight of the murder of live babies by one man with a pair of scissors.
