If video killed the radio star, then who killed the video star?

While the Internet has taken over just about every aspect of our lives, video streaming has taken over the Internet.

According to Sandvine, Americans are getting their fix from Netflix with its usage accounting for a third of North America’s downstream traffic.

But it’s not dominating on its own.

Our obsession with parodies, pranks and cats has YouTube dominating the world.

Together, Netflix and YouTube make up 49% of Americas Internet traffic.

YouTube’s surge is thanks to smartphones and tables — no surprise there.

What is surprising is how little in comparison we are using that black hole that is social media. Facebook ranked tenth on the list, but high enough to show we are always connected.

But we didn’t need stats to tell us that.
