MEIGS COUNTY, OH - A nine-year-old boy has died after collapsing during his youth football practice. Monday night, the team was having a "light" practice with no contact. Officials say the team had just taken a break from running sprints when Wyatt Barber fell down onto the field. The third grader was rushed to the emergency room but died a short time later. His cause of death has not yet been determined.
Since early September, seven high school football players have died around the country. Little Wyatt is the first elementary player to join that tragic group. Six high school players died after games and a seventh died several weeks after collapsing during practice.
