IRVING, TX — After making a homemade clock out of a pencil-case and bringing it into school, Ahmed Mohamed was arrested. Staff at MacArthur High School in Irving thought he had made a bomb.

Talk about a nuclear reaction. The 14-year-old was suspended and nearly charged for having a fake bomb, but today we got word that no charges will be filed (that, after the story went viral and support for Ahmed well, exploded on social media with #IStandWithAhmed).

A lot of people—including Ahmed’s family—are crying foul, saying this all got blown up because he’s Muslim. He even told the Dallas Morning News that one of the cops made a derogatory comment. Ahmed says he will be transferring from MacArthur High School.

Our take? This kid’s the bomb. Everyone else is just blowing smoke.
