Hundreds of high schoolers in New York couldn’t wait to put on their boogie shoes.
The marathon dance is an annual tradition for South Glens Falls High School, one that started in 1978.
For 24 hours, 710 students shook their tail feathers.
The event almost always raises more money than the year before, but this year members of the community really outdid themselves. They raised $489,716!
Of course, the kids got jiggy with it for a good cause. They chose 40 recipients: a family who lost their home in a house fire, a local food pantry, and the others are all fighting potentially deadly illnesses and facing serious financial burden.
The students capped the night with the song “Good Feeling.” Fitting. Giving back is a good feeling.
