NEW YORK, NY - The NYPD is investigating after a video of officers punching a man inside a Brooklyn Target store surfaced. Police were apparently trying to arrest the man after he refused to leave.

The video, recorded by a shopper, shows several officers pinning the man down as bystanders yell for them to stop.

Instead, things escalated and eventually, about 20 officers made their way to the scene. Reports say it all started after an employee called police after she got into an argument with the young man over a receipt.

Target issued a statement saying, "We take the safety and security of our guests, team members and property very seriously. Following concerning behavior by one of our guests, the team contacted law enforcement."

The young man has been charged with trespassing and disorderly conduct.
