(CNN) — After more than 12 days of searching amid fears that Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 may never be found, investigators said Thursday that satellites have beamed down a ray of hope — images of a debris field floating in the southern Indian Ocean that may show wreckage of the jet.
While the lead is promising in the 13-day search, authorities are cautious.
More than 60 ships and 50 aircraft have been on the hunt for the missing plane, covering a search area of nearly three-million square miles.
The Malaysian military says it will take time to verify.
Fingers crossed that these might literally be pieces to the missing puzzle.
