HOUSTON, TX - Crazy for cocoa? Well, listen up. Today, October 28, is National Chocolate Day! So go ahead, grab some chocolate and satisfy your sweet tooth. Or satisfy some other craving, because many people think  chocolate is an aphrodisiac.

We have the Mayans and Aztecs to thank for finding this delicious threat. But while chocolate was first consumed in Mexico, it was actually refined across the pond. According to Eric Shamban, co-owner of The Chocolate Bar and Candylicious, "In Europe, they added sugar to it to make it a little sweeter, because chocolate itself is very bitter. That's why you have milk chocolate, white chocolate and dark chocolate."

Of course, there are plenty of other reasons to savor all kinds of chocolate. According to Shamban, "Chocolate goes with absolutely anything you want. I can't think of anything chocolate doesn't go with." So, enjoy your chocolate everyone! But let's face it, every day should be National Chocolate Day!
