STEUBENVILLE, OH – The small town of Steubenville, Ohio has been rocked by a rape scandal that plays like something right out of a Lifetime movie, except these star football players aren’t actors though.

The trial for Trent Mays and Ma’lik Richmond has started and both are accused of raping a 16-year-old drunk girl at a victory party following a football game.

The athletic duo claim the girl never said no, but a leaked YouTube video featuring the boys fellow teammates bragging about the alleged rape as not help their friends defense. A picture posted on Instagram of the passed out victim being carried by both men on trial also hasn’t helped their case.

The small town is now full of people protesting on the victim’s behalf, some even accusing the police department of protecting other members of the beloved football team who may have been involved.

If found guilty, the two players could be in juvenile jail until their 21st birthdays.
