A father doing his daughter’s hair has sparked viral outrage. Doyin Richards, a father of two daughters, is known for his blog “Daddy Doin’ Work”.
Well, Richards posted a picture of himself and his two daughters, as he was helping one of them get ready for school. Mainly so his wife would believe him.
He shared it to his Facebook and Twitter pages. It went viral. Now instead of people thinking it was great that a dad was helping out, or an adorable picture, Richards got a lot of hateful feedback. Here are some of the comments:
– “He probably rented those kids. They don’t even look like him.”
– “I would bet anything that you’re a deadbeat.”
– “So do you do this for all of your illegitimate kids?”
-“This would be so much better if those kids were BLACK!”
His response to the haters:
“Why don’t you put your big boy pants on and get in on the revolution of good fathers.”
Amen Richards! I cannot believe that this even became an issue and furthermore became a race issue. This picture is an example of a present father. It should be used as an example for how to be a good father. If that were a picture of a white man doing his daughter’s hair would it have even been an issue?! Anyone who commented negatively on this photo has no business being a parent.
