Rockets win Southwest Division and get 2nd seed in West

HOUSTON – James Harden had his fourth triple-double of the season to power the Houston Rockets to 117-91 win over the Utah Jazz. The MVP candidate had 16 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists to give Houston their 56th win of the season. After the win, the Rockets became New Orleans Pelicans fans.

The Pelicans were trying to play their way into the playoffs by beating the San Antonio Spurs. A Spurs loss would mean quite a bit for the Rockets. The Pelicans delivered by beating the Spurs 108-103.

The Rockets will now be the second seed in the Western Conference since they are now crowned as Southwest Division champions and will open play against the Dallas Mavericks who are the seven seed. The Pelicans win makes them the eighth seed and the opponent for the top-seeded Golden State Warriors.
