HOUSTON — The 11-year-old girl reported missing in north Harris County Wednesday night has been found safe after being reunited with her family by a good Samaritan.

Investigators said Nekedria "KeKe" Collins was seen walking out of her family's home at the Fall Brook Ranch apartment complex on West Road before she was reported missing at 9:30 p.m. Officers said she was wearing a dark-colored shirt and blue jeans.

The girl's father told NewFix she lived with her mother and mother's boyfriend.

"I watch the news and I see kids come up missing," he said.

However, the Harris County Sheriff's Office did not treat this like a typical runaway case. Deputies have sent out helicopters and a K-9 unit to search for the girl, officials said.

"From what I heard, she got mad and left walking," Arlene Johnson, her paternal great aunt, said.
