HOUSTON, TX – You might not want to be so quick to post a selfie. Researchers at Ohio State University released a study finding men who post lots of selfies on social media can show narcissistic and even psychopathic traits.
The study looked at data collected from 800 men between 18-40 years old.
Don’t get too worried, the results don’t mean all guys posting selfies are narcissists or psychopaths. The men in the study all tested in the normal range of behavior. Still, it can mean the heavy posters have more anti-social traits.
“Guys who post a lot of selfies, I would say are very narcissistic,” Samuel Meyer said while walking in downtown Houston.
Another Houston man, Barry Lynn, wasn’t quite in agreement.
“I don’t know that I would think if you post a lot of selfies it would mean that you have that type of character trait,” Lynn said.
Women were not surveyed for this report, but lead researcher Jesse Fox is currently conducting follow-up interviews with female respondents.
