CAPE CANAVERAL, Fl. - The latest victory for Elon Musk and SpaceX hit a bit of a snag Saturday morning.

SpaceX launched the Falcon 9 rocket with a Dragon cargo spacecraft on-board. The spacecraft, carrying supplies and experiments, successfully detached and is set to dock with the International Space Station on Monday.

But the planned recovery of the Falcon 9 rocket had a bit of a rough landing.  They had planned to land on a barge in the Atlantic Ocean so they could use the rocket again in future missions.

But then Musk tweeted this little gem out -

"Close, but no cigar this time. Bodes well for the future."

Oh it made a landing on the barge, but it came in hot!  Not so hot that it broke the barge, but some of the support equipment on deck will need to be replaced.

All in all, though, the mission is a success. The International Space Station will get their much needed supplies.  As far as saving money trying to reuse their rockets, it’s back to the drawing board.
