AUGUSTA, Ga. – High school girls fighting over a guy turned tragic in Augusta.

“When you talk about senseless killings, all murders are bad, but this is the epitome of a senseless homicide,” said Richmond Country Sheriff Richard Roundtree.

Neither of the girls were killed, but as they fought, dozens more kids entered the fray, some using bats and pipes, others revving their cars to chase one another.

Roundtree says parents were actually dropping their kids off at the fight.

“Anytime you have a parent driving a child to any location for the purpose of fighting, there’s something wrong,” he said.

In the midst of the fight, a knife was drawn and is and possibly the murder weapon that killed 18-year-old Demajhay Bell.

Ten people are facing murder and aggravated assault charges.
