GULF BREEZE, Florida – An officer in Gulf Breeze, Florida was severely injured during a traffic stop on January 5, and it was all caught on dash cam video. The video shows Sergeant Kerstan Tatro standing next to a car and questioning the driver, Amy Lee Giorgio.

After detecting that Giorgio was impaired, he asked her to perform a field sobriety test.

That’s when things got ugly.

Giorgio floored it, running over Sgt. Tatro’s foot, and leaving him with a compound fracture to his arm.

While the sergeant was on the ground, writhing in pain, witnesses pulled over to help him–and this is where the story takes a bizarre turn.

A young woman pulled up to the scene to check things out and discovered the man in distress was her father!

The suspect was eventually caught and thrown in jail. More proof that there’s no such thing as a ‘routine’ traffic stop.

The dash cam video can be seen here.
