HOUSTON, TX - The Texans are no longer undefeated, at least in this year's preseason. Houston lost 14-10 to Denver Saturday night at NRG Stadium.
"I think we're all disappointed that we didn't win the game, but like I always tell you in the preseason, thank God that doesn't count in the standings," Texans head coach Bill O'Brien said.
Ryan Mallett started the game and went 5-7 for 23 yards passing, while Brian Hoyer came in for four series, completing 7 of 11 passes for 52 yards.
"We started alright," Mallett said. " We have to come out faster, try and get into a rhythm."
Hoyer added, "After a loss it feels pretty bad. As an offense as a whole, we have to get better no matter who is in there playing."
The Texans only touchdown of the game came in the third quarter on a 69-yard interception return by Kourtnei Brown.
Houston's next preseason game is Sunday, August 30 at the New Orleans Saints.
