HOUSTON, TX – It wasn’t a popular opinion to think the Texans would be in a playoff race following their 44-26 drubbing in Miami back on October 25.  Well, Texans linebacker Brian Cushing said that loss, helped put them in the position they’re in today.

“We just came together and said enough is enough,” Cushing said. “To lose like that is obviously extremely embarrassing and something we wanted no part of.”

Since that loss, the Texans have reeled off four straight wins, including Sunday’s 24-6 victory over New Orleans.  The Texans are now 6-5. If the season ended today, Houston would get the AFC’s second wild-card spot.

“Well, the playoffs don’t start today,” coach Bill O’Brien quipped at his Monday press conference. “Our guys are focused, and that’s the way it has to be. Playoffs, this, that, and the other, there’s nothing we can do about that now, other than focusing on Buffalo.”

The Texans head up to Buffalo to play the Bills this Sunday at noon.  The week after that, the Texans will host the New England Patriots. That match-up was bumped up to prime time for Sunday Night Football.
