virusTEXAS – It kind of sounds like a hurricane, but no. It’s a nasty intestinal bug. To be literal, it’s a parasite.

So many people have come down with the sickness; it’s being considered an outbreak. The Texas Department of State Health Service has confirmed more than 120 cases.

It’s not deadly, but the symptoms don’t sound like a good time. They include nausea, diarrhea, fever, etc.

Most of the cases are in and around central Texas, but the outbreak spans 16 states.

The CDC has linked the infection to prepackaged salad mix that originated in Nebraska and Iowa. The brand name hasn’t been released.

Experts stress to wash all of your produce, even if it’s prepackaged.

Better safe than sorry.
