HOUSTON, TX – Opening night always brings the nerves. During the Ensemble Theater’s ‘Knock Me a Kiss,’ it brought some extra anxiety and rewards.
“The play is about the daughter of W.E.B. de Bois who makes a very crucial decision in her life on who she wants to marry,’ said playwright Charles Smith. ‘I found out about the marriage and found out about this story and I found out she was unfairly dismissed and I thought we should know about this.”
But the night wasn’t all about the show. The theater did a fundraising campaign and the night brought on a special honor. The theater was able to raise more than $250,000. All the money will go toward the theater’s future projects.
So if you’re in the mood for a little drama, head on down to the Ensemble Theater and see what it’s all about.
