HOUSTON, TX – It was bike city in downtown this morning, as the “Tour de Houston” brought out thousands of cyclists to brave some slick city streets.

Presented by the Apache Corporation, the money raised go to Houston’s “RE-plant Houston” headed up by the Houston Parks and Rec Department.

Those riding the 20 mile route finished just ahead of the rain, but those pushing for that 40 mile ride got a little bit wet.  As for the 60 mile riders… well they came prepared.

While a wet ride can be dangerous, the trees really needed it.

As riders here gear up for the MS 150 in April, the cash raised at the “Tour de Houston” means a green and beautiful Houston for a long time to come.
