AUSTIN, TX- A very disturbing story of two mothers, each from different towns, both in trouble with the law, and it all surrounds their children.

The first, jin Austin, where Meagan Work sits behind bars while police investigate the death of her two-year-old son, Colton Turner.

Police believe they found Colton's body buried in a field near south Austin.

A family member reported him missing last week, after she hadn't seen him in more than a month.

Heartbreaking to think about, Colton would've turned three on September 21.

In Maryland, a rescue operation has turned to recovery as investigators search for two missing kids in Gaithersburg, Maryland which is southwest of Baltimore.

For now, police have arrested their mother, Catherine Hoggle, on child neglect charges.

For more than a week, there's been a frantic search for her three-year-old daughter and two-year-old son.

Despite 15 hours of tense interviews, Hoggle has refused to tell police where the children are.

K-9 units and search teams have combed 13,000 acres of land so far and have come up empty.

Police say everything Hoggle's told them has been nothing more than one empty lead after another.

Two families in turmoil, in different parts of the country, and communities hoping to get answers to some troubling mysteries.
