HUTCHINSON, KS - Getting that sneak peek of your unborn baby's sonogram can be a joy.  For a growing family in Hutchinson, the look inside at their twins shows a heartbreaking, yet a heart-warming sight at the same time.

The picture shows the pair holding hands as the gravely-ill brother struggles to survive.  Brittani and Ian McIntire already named their boy and girl twins, Mason and Madilyn.

Sadly, Mason is not thriving. He has a hole in his heart and an abnormal brain.

"He's only weighing nine ounces and his sister is over two pounds.  His only chance of survival would be heart surgery but they wouldn't do heart surgery on because of his brain," said the mother, Brittani.

The ultra sound photo is a sign that sister Madilyn is already protecting her brother.

The mother further said, "She's the only one who can actually be there and holding onto him through it and so it's comforting to know that if he does pass he won't be alone."

"We know we have a piece of them together that will last forever and it's special to have," said the father, Ian.

Seeing these two siblings bond before birth is one picture perfect moment sure to last a lifetime.
