PROVO, UT - Are child predators targeting single moms just to get close to their kids?  Two Utah moms might think so after dating the same man they met, who allegedly sexually abused their daughters.

James Brausch, 54, is charged with two counts of aggravated sex abuse of a child.

Provo police say one incident allegedly happened during swimming lessons at a hotel in Provo, about 40 miles south of Salt Lake City. Lieutenant Brandon Post said, "It was during one of these swimming lessons that he then allegedly abused the seven-year-old girl."

After that relationship ended, cops say Brausch met another woman on a dating website.  Guess you can't be too careful when it comes to the online dating, either.

"You don't know who is on the other end. I'm very cautious. I will talk to somebody for a long time before I meet them and you just never know," said one female online dater.

Cops say another woman let her 10-year-old daughter spend the night at Brausch's home, where he allegedly sexually abused her, too.

Women's support groups warn to be very protective of your kids early on in relationships.

Alana Kidness with the Utah Coalition Against Sexual Assault said, "We don't want to have to mistrust everybody, but there are questions we shouldn't be afraid to ask."

When it comes to being safe with dating, don't just do it for yourself.  Do it for your kids.
