HOUSTON, Texas - Vice President Joe Biden made an appearance in Houston with an important agenda, our nations ports. The veep delivered the keynote address to the annual convention of the American Association of Port Authorities right here in H-Town, urging Americans to improve the infrastructure of the shipping ports.

The convention also features speakers from major shipping lines, all with the goal to further enhance the Port Authorities. The busiest port in the U.S. in terms of foreign tonnage, second-busiest in terms of overall tonnage in the U.S., is our very own Port of Houston, which just turned 100. The county, city, and Coast Guard are putting their heads together to make the port and ship channel more secure.

Protecting and improving seems to be the message of the day. To keep our ships sailing and to make sure the money keeps flowing in.
