HOUSTON, TX - It was a scientific Saturday for more than 650 elementary and middle school students during the 14th annual Mars Rover Model Celebration and Competition.  Hosted at the University of Houston, the students showed off Mars Rover models they'd built.  The models are supposed to reflect a specific science mission that would be done on Mars' surface.

"Kids are naturally curious, and if you enable that curiosity, the inner light that lights up those children is amazing," said Dr. Edgar Bering, a UH professor of physics and electrical engineering.

The students learn a Mars curriculum and build the models over six weeks and with a $25 budget.
