NONTHABURI, THAILAND - Thai police say a woman tried to steal a diamond -- by swallowing it.

The woman knocked back the six-carat stunner, then replaced it with a fake at at jewelry fair in Bangkok. Jiang Sulian nearly got away with it too, but the stone showed up on a body scanner at the airport.

When police figured out what was going on, they called in surgeons to go mining. What they pulled out was the giant sparkler, worth nearly $280,000. Her caper means Sulian is our Dumbass of the Day.
