RICHMOND, VA – There’s not much in the world more frustrating than dealing with the DMV.

Ashlee Owens of Amelia, Virginia had her license suspended. The DMV said they didn’t have proof of her insurance, even though Ashlee says she sent it via email and the old-fashioned way, snail mail.

“I’ve been trying for the last three days to get through to the DMV in between the answering service telling me that its too long of a wait and hanging up on me and between just trying to get to someone and get it straight I shouldn’t be in this position,” says Ashlee.

So after exhausting everything she could do from home, Ashlee figured it was time to get tough and sassy — literally with her dog ‘Tuff’ and her horse ‘Sassy.’

It was illegal for her to drive from her home in Amelia to the DMV in Richmond; so after having a friend drop her off with a horse trailer, Ashlee trotted her little protest trail ride to the DMV in person.

In her victory speech she said, “I went in and the lady who’s the head of DMV came in and found me and asked if I was the lady with the horse outside and said well come over here and took me to the side and took all my paperwork upstairs and handled it immediately and sent me on my way.”

Goes to show you, sometimes you just need a little more horsepower to get things done.
