SPRING, Texas — A man’s body was found Wednesday after the victim drowned in flood waters left by Hurricane Harvey days before, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Pct. 3 confirmed.

Authorities said on Monday they received reports regarding a possible drowning near the 2100 block of Riley Fuzzel Road.

Witnesses said they observed an elderly man fall into high water while attempting to cross the Grand Parkway. Officials searched for the victim but were initially unsuccessful.

Witnesses contacted deputies around 7:19 p.m. Tuesday saying they found the body of a deceased man near the location where witnesses previously reported the man fell.  When deputies arrived to the scene, they found the man wearing the same clothing description as reported the previous day.

The body was taken to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for an autopsy and identification.
