YMCA Operation Backpack returns for 15th year of helping families prepare for school

The YMCA of Greater Houston want to make sure every child is ready to go back to school this year! Morning Dose’s Maggie Flecknoe goes live at the Monty Ballard YMCA at Cinco Ranch for the 15th annual YMCA Operation Backpack school supplies drive. Meet one family who has benefited from this school drive. Plus, the wonderful employees and volunteers who make the initiative possible.

Free Trees For Houston

HOUSTON (CW39) -- Houston is about to get prettier one tree at a time and you can help. The "Trees For Houston" non-profit is giving away 500 trees for FREE. Anyone can take one home, you just have to promise to plant it and care for it. To learn more about the event that is happening Saturday, January 9th from 10am-1pm CW39's Shannon LaNier went to the organizations tree farm.
