HOUSTON, Texas (KIAH) It’s almost the weekend and CW39 has your weekend weather forecast. Don’t forget Columbus Day is observed on Monday, October 11th. So if you have a three day weekend planned, here’s what you need to know:

Around Town

On Saturday the area is likely to see patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, mostly sunny conditions with a high near 88 degrees and light south wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. For Saturday night skies remain mostly clear with a low around 72 degrees and southeast wind at 5 to 10 mph.

On Sunday a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms are likely to produce after 2pm. Otherwise mostly sunny skies prevail with a high near 88 degrees and south winds at 5 to 15 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph. As Sunday night approaches a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms are still likely before 8pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2am. The night skies are expected to ne partly cloudy with a low around 75 degrees and the chance of precipitation moving to 40 percent.

At the beach

On Saturday it’s likely to see some clouds in the morning but by the time the afternoon arrives so does the sunny skies. The high will be near 86 degrees with winds from the south southeast at 10 to 15 mph. Night time comes with mostly clear conditions and a low near 77 degrees with winds from the south southeast at 10 to 20 mph.

On Sunday expect a mix of sunshine and clouds and a high around 85 degrees with winds from the south southeast at 10 to 20 mph. Conditions are likely to become windy with scattered thunderstorms after midnight and a low in the upper 70’s is expected again.
