SPRING, Texas — It seems there's a fire bug in Old Town Spring, where firefighters said a vintage shop was firebombed.

Firefighters said the owner of The Coin Shop on Midway Street raced to the store when something triggered the alarmed.

"When he arrived at the business, he observed a Molotov cocktail on the porch that was still on fire. He opened the front door of the business and all of a sudden noticed he had a fire inside the business," said Capt. Dean Hansley of the Harris County Fire Marshall's Office.

Hansely said the shop also had a second Molotov cocktail, which is typically an emptied bottle refilled with flammable liquid and topped with a cloth that is lit on fire before being thrown.

Investigators said it isn't the first time a fire has smothered business in Old Town Spring, and traffic should be back to normal soon. Thanks to quick action by the Spring Volunteer Fire Department, the flames didn't do much damage to the neighboring businesses.'

Whoever started the fire couldn't extinguish the spirit of Old Town Spring, and their conscience should be burning with guilt.
