SPRING, Texas — Two's company, but three's a crowd — and in this case, burglary as well!

Lonnie Jones was arrested Monday morning after he broke into a couple's house in the 3100 block of Legends Creek around 4 a.m. the night before, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said.

Homeowner Jarred Morris and his girlfriend were sleeping when Jones crept into the couple's room and climbed into bed with them, deputies said. The woman felt Jones touching her and woke up. Morris jumped out of bed and before he realized it, he was chasing Jones out into the street.

"I jumped up, and I was chasing him as he busts through the bedroom and almost knocks the door off the hinges," Morris said. "I thought he was going to my son's room, so I chased him."

Morris said the alleged intruder swung the front door open, and jetted out onto the sidewalk.

"I realized, here you are out here in the middle of the street in your underwear, chasing this guy, and you don't have any weapons," the homeowner said. "What if this guy's got a knife or a gun? So I stopped and kept yelling."

The next day authorities received 911 calls about a man fitting Jones' description peeking into a second home nearby.

"While we were investigating, we received another call in from dispatch where a male was seen in the same general area peeking into another home," MCSO Chief Matt Rodriguez of Precinct 3 said. "Our deputies responded to that."

Deputies arrived and arrested Jones, who was already out on bond for indecency with a child in the same county.

Jones is charged with burglary of a habitation and is currently being held at the Montgomery County Jail.

Since the spine-chilling confrontation, Morris installed a security system and plans to go to greater lengths to protect his house.

While the household is still shaken up, there's one thing to thankful for: their family's safety.

“He had his hands on Lisa, and my son was in the next room. That’s a very, very scary situation, and I’m happy that it turned out the way that it did. God knows what would have happened if we hadn’t woken up," Morris said.

Let's just hope that if you have an exciting bedroom surprise any time soon — it's not like this one.
