Police: Former HPD officer offers hitmen $500 to rape, kill women in Pasadena

PASADENA, Texas — A former police officer was arrested Wednesday after attempting to hire two hitmen that were actually undercover detectives, the Pasadena Police Department said.

Clarence Michael McNatt, 63, is charged with conspiracy to commit capital murder and two counts of conspiracy to commit aggravated kidnapping with intent to commit sexual assault.

The suspect tried to hire hitmen to to kidnap and sexually assault to women in early November, officers said. McNatt asked that one of the women, a 31-year-old, be killed afterward, investigators said.

The department said McNatt offered to pay the men $500 to commit the crime before giving the officers $100 cash and three gold rings with various stones as a payment.

McNatt severed as a police officer during the ’80s and ’90s for the Houston, Ames and Clear Lake Shores police departments, the investigators said.

His bail has been set at $100,000.

McNatt is currently awaiting trial at the Harris County Jail.
