HOUSTON — The Houston Police Department is searching for a gunman after a man was fatally shot near the Meyerland area Monday afternoon.

The incident happened in the 5400 block of Braes Valley Drive at the Nob Hill Apartments around 1:30 p.m.

Investigators said three men, including the victim and his brother, were driving around the area for an unknown amount of time.

Police believe at some point something happened inside the car and the third man shot one of the brothers multiple times.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and his brother was taken in for questioning.

Investigators said the alleged gunman is still in the area and should be considered armed and dangerous.

The shooting comes two weeks after 10-month-old Messiah Marshall was shot and killed on the same street while taking a walk with his father.

“I’m moving out immediately. You think you’re safe but you’re not. This is the third week somebody has got killed here,”  Angel Taylor said.
