Victim dies after being shot in head at gun range in NW Harris County, deputies say

CYPRESS, Texas — A man hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the head has been pronounced dead, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.

The victim was shot Monday while in the parking lot of the Hot Wells Shooting Range on Highway 290 near Barker-Cypress and Skinner roads. He was rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital in downtown Houston via life flight, deputies said.

As of now, investigators are calling the situation an accidental shooting.
