HOUSTON — A man was arrested Monday following accusations her ran over his former co-worker several times in southeast Houston.
The victim’s former co-worker, Rogelio Alberto Guardado, 69, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Houston police said San Juanita Herrera, 41, was standing near the entrance of the Long Drive Townhomes around Sept. 11 in southeast Houston when Guardado intentionally ran into her with a gray Nissan Frontier pickup truck.
The driver drove to the back of the complex entrance and accelerated as he rammed into the woman a second time, police said. He then put the vehicle in reverse before striking Herrera a third time, officers said. Police said as Guardado was leaving the apartment complex, he struck the victim a fourth time.
Police found Guardado’s truck the next day.
Herrera suffered several lacerations and head trauma during the incident, investigators said. She was rushed to the hospital where she remains in critical condition.
Police are still investigating the motive of this crime.
