Man shot in front of convenience store during drive-by in south Houston, HPD says

HOUSTON – The victim has been identified after a drive-by shooting Thursday morning at a convenience store in south Houston.

Marcus Christopher, 26, was shot in the shoulder around midnight while standing in the store’s parking lot on Alabama Street near Delano Street, according to the Houston Police Department.

Police said Christopher and two other men were talking when a grey sedan drove by and someone inside the car opened fire, shooting multiple rounds. The suspect then left the scene.

Christopher was taken to Ben Taub Hospital, where he is in stable condition.

Investigators reviewed the store’s surveillance video but said the images weren’t very clear.

The motive for the shooting is still unknown.
