Southwest Airlines is calling for its mechanics to be “all hands on deck” as the company attempts to sort through dozens of planes being taken out of service due to maintenance issues. Hundreds of cancelled and delayed flights have caused a domino effect for travelers across the country.
The airline is usually has about twenty airplanes out of service each day, but on Tuesday, there were forty.
Southwest said in a statement released on Tuesday that there isn’t a common theme with the maintenance issues.
There were 191 canceled Southwest flights on Tuesday and more than 400 on Wednesday.
